Juventus overcame a spirited second-half Parma revival to see out victory at the Allianz Stadium, with Spalletti pleased by the tempo his side set throughout.
"Everything was positive, a good win at high intensity. A well-played match in both halves. We pressed high but it didn't always come off, because we didn't fully exploit certain movements without quite finding that extra quality against a team playing that way. We never got rattled, and we kept moving the ball from side to side," he said.
He was particularly complimentary of substitute Nico González, who came off the bench to help settle the contest.
"We'd have found the space anyway because we'd tired them out, but Nico gave us a hand because he came on and threw himself into the game. That's just how he is, and it'll suit us well."
Asked whether González would remain at the club beyond the deadline, Spalletti was unequivocal.
"There's no uncertainty on my part. He had other clubs interested initially, but in my conversation with him I told him: look, we can't just hand you over to... you have value, and if you're open to hearing other offers, we need to bring that value home. Either we get what he's worth, or he stays. Since he arrived he's trained alone on rest days, he's got that edge to him - we're happy to have a player of his level available."
On the collapse of Juventus's move for Kessié, who chose Atalanta instead, Spalletti brushed off any suggestion of disappointment.
"Absolutely not. Our director has already spoken about it and he knows how things went. I only wish Kessié well - he apologised and explained his reasoning, because he'd have liked to play for Juventus like anyone would. Not everyone likes our performances, but we've played two really good matches against Frosinone and Parma."
Parma boss Carlos Cuesta took a measured view of the defeat, pointing to defensive struggles in the first half before improvement after the introduction of Adrián Cremaschi and Emanuel Romero.
"We always want to win, so being happy isn't possible, but I want to see the glass half full and there are positives. In the first half we didn't do what I wanted because they pressed us hard. With Cremaschi and Romero on we managed to create more and had big chances. At 2-0 the game was over, and now we want to improve. Since Cagliari we've made progress, just not enough to get a result."
Cuesta praised goalkeeper Corvi and young defender Drobnić, the latter making his senior bow.
"Corvi made a huge save and had an excellent game overall - a great person who brings real calm to the team, a huge asset for this club. He's one of us," he said, before turning to Drobnić: "He played with real personality, winning individual duels. To perform like that on debut deserves respect. We know his qualities, he's a first-team player and he deserves all of this."
