The 25-year-old winger arrives after a season on loan at French side Brest, where his performances convinced the newly promoted Bundesliga club to move for him, in a permanent deal reported to be worth around €700,000 given he had just a year left on his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Dina Ebimbe made 27 appearances for Brest last season, scoring five goals as the Ligue 1 club finished 12th, form that was enough to persuade Schalke to step up their interest.
Football director Youri Mulder explained the thinking behind the move.
"We have been looking at his player profile for some time, and after good negotiations with Frankfurt we got the chance to sign Junior Dina Ebimbe," he said.
Mulder believes the winger's attributes suit Schalke's style of play perfectly.
"Our style of play demands a high level of physicality, and Junior has everything it takes," he added, highlighting the Cameroon international as a fit for the right wing-back role in particular given his combination of physical intensity and positional flexibility.
Dina Ebimbe, who joined Frankfurt permanently from Paris Saint-Germain for around €6.5m in 2023 after an initial loan spell, made 85 competitive appearances for the German club, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists.
He also expressed his delight at the move, telling Schalke's official website: "It feels good to be part of the team and to return to the Bundesliga with Schalke.
"The management made a genuine effort to sign me. From our discussions, I know exactly what is expected of me. I am here to dig in and help the team."
Dina Ebimbe has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028 and will wear the number 29 shirt at Schalke, giving the newly promoted club further depth on the flanks as they prepare for their return to the Bundesliga.
