Kevin Schade's second-half header cancelled out Marcus Tavernier's finish to secure Brentford a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, with the German forward benefiting from a dreadful pass out from goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic to level the scores for a second time.
Antonio Silva had earlier headed a glorious chance wide for the hosts, while Ben Gannon-Doak crashed a stoppage-time effort against the post as Bournemouth pushed for a winner that never came, leaving Marco Rose still waiting for a first Premier League victory as head coach.
Keith Andrews felt his side had done well to salvage a point despite an underwhelming overall performance.
"I didn't think we were at our best," Andrews said. "There were certain parts of the game where I wanted a little bit more.
"I think we could have played a little bit more with cohesion and conviction. On the other hand, I'm very proud of the boys to come here and not play particularly well in certain stages of the game and still come away with a point."
Rose, by contrast, felt his side had done enough to win, pointing to the shot count as evidence Bournemouth were the better team on the day.
"We played well again, put a lot of effort in the game, had a good attitude," Rose said. "We are in most stats up, better than Brentford, but at the end they scored two goals with two shots on target and we scored two goals with ten shots on target. That's the point."
Asked about the individual errors that cost his side, including Petrovic's mistake and missed chances from Silva and Rayan, Rose said he was more interested in the response than the mistakes themselves.
"It's part of the game and it happens. Everyone is a human being," Rose said. "I don't care about the mistake. I felt that even if we concede this goal, we are able to win the game because we were the better team. But I care about the reaction. So for me, it's how we stick together as a team, how we handle the situation."
Bournemouth turn their attention to the Europa League next, with a trip to Real Sociedad on Thursday, and Rose remains convinced his side's attacking approach will soon bring rewards.
"I think if you watch our games, I think it's a joy. You always see goals," he said. "We work on it, we are talking about it, and we felt on Tuesday how good it is to win games, to have a clean sheet. We have to keep this level, this effort, and then we're going to reward us the next games."
