Saibari agrees Bayern contract as €5m gap threatens to delay blockbuster deal

Bayern Munich

Ismael Saibari has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich on a contract until 2031 and is waiting for the clubs to resolve a €5 million gap in their fee negotiations before his medical can be completed in the United States.

Bayern Munich have submitted a package of €45 million as a base fee plus €5 million in performance-related bonuses for the 25-year-old PSV Eindhoven attacker. PSV are holding out for a minimum guaranteed fee of €50 million — a position that has left the deal in a state of advanced proximity without a definitive conclusion.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, both clubs are confident of reaching agreement and describe the remaining distance as bridgeable.

The Bavarian Football Works and Get German Football News report that Saibari has landed in the United States with Morocco's World Cup squad and that his medical is scheduled to take place in America once the clubs confirm terms.

Saibari was PSV's most dynamic attacking presence in a dominant 2025-26 Eredivisie season. He scored 15 goals and contributed eight assists in 27 league appearances as the Eindhoven club won the title by 19 points from second-placed Feyenoord.

The 29-cap Morocco international brings versatility across the attacking positions — primarily a central attacking midfielder, though he has been used as a winger and a second striker.

Bayern fought off concrete interest from Paris Saint-Germain during the earlier stages of the window, cementing Saibari's own preference for Munich. The Bundesliga club paid €70 million for Luis Díaz last summer and regard Saibari as the natural attacking complement — a younger, more technical presence capable of linking play and producing goals from the second line.

The fee dispute is not unusual at this stage of a window that has not yet formally opened. PSV's resistance to accepting bonuses as part of the guaranteed package is a negotiating position rather than a statement of intent to walk away.

Bayern's squad planning for the 2026-27 season has this signing at its centre. The gap is small. The momentum is strong.
