The Giallorossi have spent much of the summer trying and failing to land an attacking wide player, missing out on Mason Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville and Alejandro Garnacho in turn.
Their latest target had been Antonio Nusa, but with RB Leipzig setting a high asking price for the Norwegian, Roma have now identified his compatriot Bobb as a cheaper alternative, according to Retesport.
Bobb, who can play on the right, left or in a deeper trequartista role and is left-footed, came through Manchester City's academy after joining in 2019 before being sold to Fulham in January for €31.2m plus a 20 per cent cut of any future sale.
The move has not proven especially fruitful so far, with the 23-year-old failing to score or register an assist in 16 appearances for the Cottagers since his arrival. He did, however, catch the eye at this summer's World Cup, featuring for Norway throughout their run to the quarter-finals, where they were eventually beaten by England after extra time.
Retesport report that Bobb's representatives have strong existing links with Roma, which should make opening intensive negotiations between the two parties relatively straightforward if the Italian club decide to press ahead with a formal approach.
AS Roma's pursuit of a new winger has taken on added urgency as the transfer window enters its closing weeks, with the club still short of the attacking reinforcements they had targeted at the start of the summer.
Fulham, for their part, have given no indication they are willing to sanction a quick departure for Bobb, who arrived at Craven Cottage as one of the club's more eye-catching signings of the January window and was seen as a long-term addition to Marco Silva's squad rather than a short-term option, despite his struggles to make an immediate first-team impact since moving south from Manchester.
