Elsewhere in Roma's transfer plans, hopes of adding Atletico Madrid full-back Matteo Ruggeri appear to have cooled. Agent Tullio Tinti, speaking on Sky, played down any prospect of an imminent move.
"He had an extraordinary season with Atletico Madrid. To play in a place like Madrid you need real personality. It's normal that after a season like that, there's interest, not just from Roma and Fiorentina but also from other clubs in Italy and abroad.
However, the intention of both Atletico and the player is to continue together. Nottingham Forest asked for information back in January, but he wasn't for sale then and he isn't now either," Tinti said.
