The teenager trained with Real Madrid's Cadete A under-16 side during his father's spell recovering from injury in Spain, with academy coaches describing him as making a strong first impression.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Real Madrid's interest is genuine, with further sessions planned and a formal move expected once he turns 16.
Ronaldo Jr has spent the last two years at Al-Nassr, where his father Cristiano Ronaldo remains under contract until 2027. While the Saudi club had been preparing for the possibility of the teenager graduating into their first-team setup, his preference has been clear โ he wants to test himself in Europe's elite academy environment, just as his father did when he left Sporting CP for Manchester United at 18.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with interest. Borussia Dortmund and Sporting CP, the Lisbon club where his father developed as a teenager, are further options if the Madrid move does not materialise.
The family's main concern is the weight of expectation. Growing up across Juventus, Manchester United and Al-Nassr academies during his father's career has prepared Ronaldo Jr for a life in the spotlight, but those close to the family acknowledge the burden of comparison that will follow him at every stage.
His record so far has provided few grounds for concern. He scored 58 goals in 23 matches for Juventus' under-9 side and 56 in 27 games for Al-Nassr's under-15s. Internationally, he has represented Portugal at under-15 and under-17 level, winning the Under-17 World Cup in November.
His father, 41, is set to play in what will likely be his final World Cup this summer, closing in on 1,000 career goals. The next chapter of the Ronaldo name in football may be just beginning.
