Born in Novomoskovsk, in the Dnipro region of Ukraine, the goalkeeper fled the country in the spring of 2022 as a young teenager, leaving his mother behind and arriving in Spain unable to speak the language. He found refuge in Novelda, a town in Alicante province, where football became his route back to normal life.
Standing at 2.02 metres, Voloshyn stood out physically from his earliest days in Spanish youth football, progressing from Novelda through Rayo Majadahonda before Real Madrid moved to bring him into their academy.
Since arriving at Valdebebas his rise has been rapid, working through the youth ranks to establish himself with the Juvenil A side. In April, he was part of the Real Madrid team that won the UEFA Youth League in Lausanne under coach Álvaro López, the top prize in European youth football.

The academy news was less positive for Loren Zúñiga, who has ended his three-year spell at Real Madrid by joining Libyan club Al Madina on a contract until 2029.
The forward arrived in the Madrid academy in 2023 from Málaga and spent last season with Castilla, scoring 11 goals in 45 appearances across his three years in the Spanish capital without breaking into Mourinho's first-team plans.
Zúñiga's performances also earned him international recognition with Equatorial Guinea, for whom he was called up to the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Real Madrid had previously fended off interest from clubs including Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona when Zúñiga was a rising star in Málaga's youth system, before he made the switch to the Spanish capital. Al Madina, based in Tripoli, have been active in the Spanish market recently, having also recently signed Abde Damar on loan from Zamora.
