Nottingham Forest are continuing to pursue Corinthians midfielder André despite the English transfer window having closed, with the Brazilian club hoping to finalise a deal that would see the player move in January.
According to RTIEsporte, the Premier League side have reached a broad agreement with the São Paulo club over the transfer of the 20-year-old, though the finer details are still being negotiated. The English window shut before paperwork could be completed, meaning any move would have to wait until the European market reopens.
Corinthians are seeking a fixed fee of £15 million for André, with a further £6 million in performance-related bonuses. Nottingham Forest have so far balked at that valuation and are trying to restructure the add-ons, according to the report.
The Brazilian club had set an internal deadline to get the deal done before the window closed but acknowledged that time ran short.
"The idea is that it can be negotiated, but only to be delivered at the end of the year. The English window closed. However, negotiations were carried out regardless of the window, that is, the possibility of André going in January. So this negotiation could still take place and would be a relief to the club's coffers, an important resource," a Corinthians source told CNN.
The club's financial position adds urgency to the situation. Corinthians own only 70 per cent of André's economic rights and had budgeted to raise R$151 million from player sales in 2026, yet have so far failed to complete any major outgoing deals this window. The midfielder has become one of their most marketable assets since breaking into the senior squad.
André's agent, Diogo Silva, has been vocal in criticising the club's handling of negotiations. He told Globo Esporte that Corinthians "can't refuse a €17 million deal and then not receive any offers even similar to that one," referring to an earlier bid from AC Milan that the club turned down.
Silva argued that the club's counter-proposals have been designed "to avoid a sale" rather than facilitate one.
The 20-year-old made his senior debut in September 2025 and has since established himself as a regular under manager Ramón Díaz. His preference is understood to be a move to Europe, with Forest now the most concrete option on the table.
