Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri has confirmed the Magpies' interest in the 24-year-old Algeria international.
Hadj Moussa scored the only goal against the Netherlands in a World Cup warm-up in Rotterdam last week — a late winner at De Kuip that underscored the level of performance he has sustained throughout the season. He registered 14 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord in 2025-26, establishing himself as one of the Eredivisie's most dangerous wide players.
A left-footed winger who operates primarily on the right flank and cuts inside, Hadj Moussa was described as "incredible" by former Netherlands striker Marco van Basten. His ability in one-on-one situations, low centre of gravity and explosive acceleration across tight spaces make him an attractive profile for Eddie Howe's system, which has historically relied on a direct and penetrative winger in Gordon's position.
Born in Paris, Hadj Moussa came through the Patro Eisden academy in Belgium before a loan spell at Vitesse — where he was excellent despite the club's relegation — before joining Feyenoord for €3.5m in the summer of 2024. The Dutch club rejected a €28m bid from Benfica last summer and have since set their asking price at approximately €35m.
Feyenoord hold full negotiating control. Hadj Moussa is contracted until June 2030, and technical director Dennis te Kloese has made clear the club will not let him leave cheaply. No formal bid from Newcastle United has been submitted.
