The Italian champions are planning to offer Badiashile a three-year contract, with the Frenchman deemed surplus to requirements by Xabi Alonso as Chelsea continue reshaping their defence this summer, reports The Sun.
Badiashile is understood to be keen on a move to Serie A, though he is also drawing interest from unnamed Premier League clubs. Chelsea had initially explored using the 25-year-old as part of a swap deal with Crystal Palace for centre-back Maxence Lacroix, but Palace have since made clear that Axel Disasi remains their primary target for any agreement involving Lacroix, with talks between Palace and Disasi's representatives ongoing and an announcement expected once personal terms are finalised.
Should any complications arise over Disasi, Palace could yet reopen discussions over Badiashile, though for now the Frenchman remains strongly drawn to the option of a move to Naples.
Chelsea signed Badiashile from Monaco in a ยฃ35m deal in January 2023, handing him a seven-and-a-half-year contract after identifying him as one of Europe's brightest young centre-backs, having broken into the France senior side and earned two caps in 2022 before his move to Stamford Bridge.
Since arriving in England, he has made 71 appearances in all competitions but has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular, with one of the highlights of his time in London coming in last summer's Club World Cup triumph.
Allegri, who replaced former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in Naples this summer, is eager to strengthen his defence before the new campaign gets under way. Napoli won Serie A in 2024-25 with the division's best defensive record, conceding just 27 goals, but finished as runners-up to Inter Milan last season after shipping 36, an area of the pitch Allegri has identified as needing urgent attention.
With Chelsea closing in on the signing of Lacroix from Palace, Badiashile appears increasingly likely to depart Stamford Bridge in search of regular football, with Napoli emerging as one of the strongest contenders for his signature.
