Monza have completed the signing of Inter defender Yvan Maye and are pushing to add Napoli forward Cyril Ngonge before the market closes, as Ivan Juric looks to strengthen both ends of the pitch following his side's opening-weekend defeat.
Maye's move is now official: the 20-year-old French centre-back joins on loan until 30 June 2027, with an option in Monza's favour and a counter-option allowing Inter to bring him back.
Born in Antony on 21 March 2006, Maye joined Inter's academy in 2022 and worked his way through to the Primavera before being promoted to the club's Under-23 side for 2025/26, where he made nine Serie C appearances.
He received his first senior call-up for a trip to Pisa in November 2025 and impressed enough to be included in Inter Milan's first-team pre-season under Cristian Chivu this summer.
Maye marked his exit with an emotional message to Inter's supporters on Instagram.
"I was a child full of dreams when I joined the nerazzurri family. Through hard work, passion, sacrifice, and above all the help of everyone I've met along my journey at this wonderful club, I'm now a better person and a better footballer. I thank the people of Inter with all my heart. I'll always be grateful, Yvan," he wrote.
Monza's other priority is further forward, where talks with Napoli over Ngonge have gathered pace in recent hours, according to Sky Sport. The Belgian winger, who has had loan spells at Torino and Espanyol since arriving from Verona, has been searching for a new club since the window opened and remains without a settled destination.
Monza are working to get ahead of rival suitors, chief among them Parma, as they try to bring the deal over the line before deadline day.
The pursuit of defensive and attacking reinforcements follows a difficult start to the season for Juric's side, whose struggles in their opening match at San Siro prompted the coach to push the club for further additions at the back — a request the Maye deal has now answered, even as the search for a forward option continues.
