Monza have won promotion back to Serie A after defeating Catanzaro across two playoff legs, with president Lauren Crampsie describing the achievement as the product of a full year's rebuilding work from the moment the club was relegated 12 months ago.

Speaking to Sky Italia pitchside after the playoff final confirmed their return to the top flight, Crampsie โ€” the first female president in the club's history, appointed in September 2025 following American investment fund Beckett Layne Ventures' acquisition of an 80 percent stake โ€” reflected on what the season had demanded.

"It was a truly exciting match," she said. "I am proud of the fans and the squad, who fought enormously throughout the entire season to achieve this objective. There is a fantastic atmosphere here. We rebuilt Monza in a year โ€” it was not simple, but we managed to bring the club back to Serie A."

She also spoke about what makes the Italian top flight worth fighting for.

"Italy is truly unique. There is a great atmosphere and an extraordinary affection from the supporters โ€” aspects that make this championship special."

Head coach Paolo Bianco, who inherited a squad recently relegated after three consecutive seasons in Serie A, managed the rebuild without major summer investment, relying instead on structural clarity and a return to the collective principles that had defined the club under the previous ownership of Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani.

The promotion was secured on head-to-head record after the aggregate score was level against Catanzaro, with Monza having finished the regular season in the higher position. They won the first leg 2-0 before a goalless second leg confirmed their return to the top division.
