Mac Allister's contract runs until the summer of 2028, and he said earlier this month that it made him "very, very sad" to see team-mates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch handed new deals while nothing had been offered to him.
Reports had suggested Liverpool have since opened talks over an extension, but the Argentine, speaking to ESPN while on international duty, said nothing has been settled.
"There's no firm decision yet. I still have two years left on my contract. As I said, I'm going to give it my all. A lot can happen in that time; there are plenty of options."
He remains hopeful of staying at Anfield beyond that point, but is at peace with either outcome:
"Hopefully it'll be for more years, but if it's just two, I'll have to enjoy them with my family, because I have no doubt that I'm at one of the best clubs in the world."
Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in the summer of 2023 and has been a regular starter ever since, playing a key role in the club's title-winning 2024-25 season. He has started five of Andoni Iraola's first seven matches in charge this season, on a deal reported to be worth £180,000 a week.
Mac Allister is currently on international duty with Argentina, who play a series of friendlies during the break. He also discussed Argentina's future without Lionel Messi, who has retired from international football, telling ESPN the squad will simply have to "grow stronger as a team".
