Nyoni signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in October 2024 and made fourteen first-team appearances last season, though only two of those were starts β both in the Carabao Cup β and his six Premier League outings came as late substitute appearances.
Speaking to The Athletic, Inglethorpe gave his assessment of where Nyoni stands.
"Watching Trey train, he looks ever so comfortable in that first-team environment. There has to be a juncture where you go from training every day with them to turning that into minutes on the pitch, and that's where he's at now.
"He's shown patience and he's ready to take the next step next season. I've got every confidence that Trey will go on to play a lot of games for this club."
Liverpool blocked a mid-season loan approach in January, keeping Nyoni in and around the first-team squad as injury cover. The stance for this summer is understood to be different, with the club ready to send him out for regular football.
Newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City are among those linked. Swansea City, managed by former Liverpool elite development coach VΓtor Matos, are also interested β a connection that would give Liverpool confidence Nyoni would be properly managed during any stint in South Wales.
