Liverpool and Man United circle Thuram as Juventus need €55m in sales by June 30

Liverpool and Manchester United are tracking Juventus midfielder Khéphren Thuram, who could be sold for €45-50 million as the Italian club need roughly €55 million in sales by June 30 after missing Champions League qualification.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus's finances have been left exposed by their failure to qualify for Europe's premier competition next season — a shortfall of around €60 million in expected revenue that the club must offset through player sales before the financial year closes.

Nico González's expected departure will not be sufficient on its own, and Gleison Bremer's €58 million release clause does not become active until July, falling outside the relevant window.

With forward Kenan Yıldız explicitly ruled out of any sale, Thuram and centre-back Bremer are viewed as the two most likely candidates to generate the required income. Thuram has already turned down approaches from Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, according to Tuttosport, but Premier League interest — described as still at the exploratory stage — represents a different proposition.

Thuram, 25, joined Juventus from OGC Nice in the summer of 2024 and has made 96 appearances across two seasons, contributing nine goals and 13 assists. He is regarded as one of the most complete young central midfielders in Serie A, combining physical power with technical range and defensive solidity.

For Liverpool, the interest is linked to Curtis Jones's expected departure to Inter Milan, with Thuram viewed as a like-for-like upgrade in terms of physical profile if not technical style. For Manchester United, Thuram sits alongside Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes on a midfield shortlist that has already produced an agreement for Atalanta's Ederson.

Real Madrid and an unnamed Saudi Arabian club were linked with Thuram last autumn, according to earlier reports, though neither has resurfaced as a concrete suitor in the current window.

Tutto Juve's own reporting suggests Thuram's personal preference remains to stay in Turin — but personal preference and financial necessity do not always align, and Juventus's June 30 deadline gives the club very little room to wait for a better offer if Liverpool or United come forward with anything close to their stated valuation.

Thuram's contract runs until 2029, meaning Juventus retain control of the asset's value even if no sale materialises this month — but with €55 million needed and the clock running, "no sale" may not be an option Juventus's accountants are prepared to accept.
