Leeds United and Liverpool are among the names being discussed in Colombian media as the likely destination, though neither has been confirmed.
Olsen points to Orozco's release clause, reported at €6 million, as the mechanism enabling a fast-moving departure from Deportivo Cali. El País mentioned Liverpool specifically alongside Brentford when the race was first reported, though that coverage appears to predate Olsen's clarification ruling the Bees out, leaving Liverpool as one continuing possibility alongside Leeds.
The development marks a rapid change from the position reported only days earlier, when Deportivo Cali were said to prefer keeping Orozco to continue his development with their first team, and one local journalist stated there was no concrete negotiation in place at that point.
Orozco had extended his contract with Deportivo Cali as recently as this year, signing through December 2029, and has made 27 first-team appearances since his senior debut in June 2025, scoring twice and also captaining Colombia's Under-20 side.
Any departure would need to be a permanent transfer, and Orozco's rapid rise has clearly attracted attention from multiple countries across Europe.
For Brentford, who moved early to try to get ahead of the competition, the apparent collapse of their interest represents a missed opportunity on one of South American football's most closely watched teenage talents.
