Lecce announced the extension in an official statement, saying the club had "prolonged the contractual relationship with the player Antonino Gallo, expiring on 30 June 2027, until the end of the 2028/29 sporting season".
The deal follows a one-year option the club exercised in June, which had taken the left-back's contract to 2027 alongside those of Lameck Banda and Ylber Ramadani. Lecce have now secured him for a further two years beyond that.
Gallo, born in January 2000, has spent his whole senior career at the Salento club, and his path there was not a straightforward one. He arrived in July 2019 after Palermo's financial collapse and spent the second half of that season on loan at Serie C side Virtus Francavilla, before returning to Lecce in the summer of 2020.
He made his Serie B debut against Empoli in January 2021 and became a starter in 2021-22, the season in which he scored his first professional goal, against Cremonese, and helped Lecce win the Serie B title and promotion. He has been a regular in Serie A since 2022.
Last season was his most productive yet. Gallo played 37 league matches, 34 of them as a starter, and set a personal best with four assists, level with Banda as Lecce's joint top provider as they secured survival. He created 36 chances and delivered 136 crosses over the campaign, and played the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 win over Genoa on the final day. He has now made more than 180 appearances in all competitions for the Giallorossi, with one goal.
It is not the only long-term commitment Lecce have made recently. After Pantaleo Corvino's departure, sporting director Stefano Trinchera was given a new deal running to June 2029 earlier this summer.
Gallo now has the security of a longer contract as Lecce continue their fifth consecutive Serie A season, with a visit to Milan awaiting on Sunday evening at San Siro, where Eusebio Di Francesco's side will face the Rossoneri.
