The Argentina captain and Inter skipper has been the defining figure of head coach Cristian Chivu's first season in charge, driving the Nerazzurri to the Scudetto with three rounds to spare — their fifth title in six seasons.
"Will I be staying for a long time? Yes, of course."
The declaration removes what little doubt remained over his future. Martínez is contracted until June 2029, having signed an extension last year worth approximately €9 million per season, and has shown no inclination to leave the club where he has spent the past eight years since arriving from Racing in 2018.
He turned his attention almost immediately from the title to the club's remaining objectives, with the Coppa Italia final still to come and three further Serie A fixtures to complete.
"It's an opportunity to close the season with two trophies. That would be significant — bringing the cup back to our club. And then there are the last three league matches. Even though we've already won the Scudetto, we have to respect our opponents."
Martínez finishes the league campaign as Inter Milan's top scorer and has been the most influential player on the pitch across the season, despite carrying a thigh problem through March that restricted him to substitute appearances for three consecutive matches. He has scored in each of Inter's last six league victories.
Inter face Bologna in the Coppa Italia final in Rome later this month, having eliminated Juventus in the semi-finals.
