Following the welcome ceremony, held at Real Madrid's Valdebebas training complex, the French centre-back spoke to the club's official media, addressing supporters in both English and fluent Spanish.
"It's a very special moment for me, because the Madrid shirt was the first one I ever had," Konaté said. "My older brother gave it to me. Since I was a kid I dreamed of playing for this incredible club. And now I'm fulfilling that dream."
Presented just hours before the start of LaLiga, Konaté made no secret of his ambition, acknowledging the standards expected of anyone who wears the white shirt.
"I know this club always has the highest aspirations. Everyone who arrives at Real Madrid knows that. I'm ready to give everything for this badge, both on and off the pitch.
"I promise to give it all."
The 26-year-old, who joined on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool at the end of his contract, also set his sights on winning the Champions League.
"I've only played in one final, in Paris in 2022, and Real Madrid won it. Another one now. I want to write my own story at this club, lift plenty of trophies and help the team keep winning. Hala Madrid!"
Konaté signed a deal running until 30 June 2030, becoming the third of the club's major arrivals to be formally presented this week, following Mourinho and Bernardo Silva. As part of the ceremony, he received the club's traditional gifts, a replica of the Santiago Bernabéu and a watch, along with the number 16 shirt.
The centre-back could feature for the first time when Real Madrid open their LaLiga campaign away at Espanyol on Saturday.
