Real Madrid academy captain Manuel Ángel, known as Mami, is closing in on a move to Almeria worth around €6m, with Madrid keeping half his rights.

The midfielder has had several offers on the table for weeks, but the interest from Almeria, as reported by journalist Ángel García, is closest to being finalised.

According to MARCA, Real Madrid's position is to give the deal the green light, requesting €6m for 50 percent of the Andalusian midfielder's rights. Almeria, for their part, are willing to consider that structure, viewing Mami as a top-level reinforcement for their push to return to the top flight under head coach Xavi García Pimienta.

With that route progressing, the future of a player who had been in a state of uncertainty is close to being resolved. He does not feature in Jose Mourinho's plans, and both the player and the club agree that his time with Castilla has run its course. The priority had been to find a destination in the top flight, or with a team with genuine promotion ambitions, a profile that fits Almeria perfectly.

Manuel Ángel Morán Ibáñez, known as Mami, was born in Albaida del Aljarafe, Seville, on 15 March 2004.

After coming through Sevilla's academy between 2012 and 2018, he moved to Valdebebas to join Real Madrid's Cadete B side. He has progressed through the club's youth ranks ever since, reaching the first team last season, for which he made seven official appearances: one in the Copa del Rey, where he made his debut against Albacete, two in the Champions League against Manchester City, and four in LaLiga against Celta, Elche, Mallorca and Betis.
