Juventus to meet Lewandowski agent as Barcelona contract talks stall

Juventus are preparing to meet with Robert Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi in the coming days as Barcelona's attempts to renew the Poland striker's contract hit a significant obstacle over wages.

Lewandowski, 37, is out of contract at the end of June. Barcelona have offered a one-year extension but at a drastically reduced salary — a condition the striker has not yet accepted.

According to Tuttosport, Zahavi is now sounding out alternative destinations, with Juventus emerging as the most concrete option.

The Turin club is set to offer Lewandowski a one-year deal worth €6 million plus bonuses, which would make him one of the highest earners in the squad.

Tuttosport reports this would also make him Juventus's designated number nine as the club prepares for the likely departure of Dušan Vlahović at the end of the season.

AC Milan have also made enquiries, though reports suggest Lewandowski has not generated the same level of enthusiasm in Milan as he has in Turin. Saudi and MLS interest also exists — Chicago Fire have submitted a formal offer — but Lewandowski is understood to prioritise remaining in elite European football and continuing in the Champions League.

The striker told The Athletic he has not yet made a decision on his future. "I'm not even 50% sure of my next destination. With my age and experience, I don't need to rush."
