Juventus push for Sorloth as Brahim Díaz tells Madrid he does not want to leave

Juventus have accelerated their pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth and made a renewed approach for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Díaz.

However, the Moroccan-Spanish player's public and private declaration that he is happy in Madrid represents a serious obstacle to any deal.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Juventus's sporting structure made contact with Díaz's father-agent in a last-ditch attempt to test his position, with the club keen to add a creative number ten capable of unlocking defences that Sørloth's direct style alone cannot. The approach is described as ambitious given that Díaz has consistently stated he has no desire to leave the Bernabéu.

Should the situation change, Manchester City would also compete for his signature — an additional complication for Juventus even if Real Madrid's stance softens.

The Sørloth pursuit is more advanced. Head coach Luciano Spalletti has specifically requested a striker before the squad reports for pre-season on July 10, and officials have already met with Sørloth's representatives in Norway to advance a deal. The 30-year-old Norway international, currently at the World Cup, has given his approval to a move to Turin. His contract at Atletico Madrid and wage demands are described as manageable.

Spalletti faces losing Dušan Vlahović this summer and is determined not to begin the new campaign without a first-choice centre-forward in place.
