Juventus and AC Milan are monitoring Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson following Bayern Munich's confirmation that they will not exercise their purchase option, with a loan move to Serie A the most likely outcome.

Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed on April 28 that both Italian clubs are following Jackson's situation, with Juventus specifically open to a loan arrangement. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed the club's position directly.

"We have players like Nicolas Jackson where we don't need to exercise the option because he's not playing enough games. And it looks like we won't be exercising the option."

Jackson, 24, joined Bayern last summer after Chelsea signed Liam Delap and João Pedro, effectively ending his starting prospects at Stamford Bridge. The loan cost Chelsea £13.5million — non-refundable. Bayern's purchase option was set at £56.2million, conditional on Jackson making 40 appearances of 45 minutes or more. He made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists, but fell well short of the threshold.

Chelsea have placed a price of around £60million on Jackson for a permanent deal — a figure that neither Juventus nor AC Milan can meet for a player of his inconsistent record. A loan, potentially with an option to buy at a reduced price, is the more realistic route for both Serie A clubs.

Jackson's agent Diomansy Kamara addressed his client's situation on social media with characteristic restraint.

"The future — who can predict it? Trust the process, anything is possible."

Bild also reported Fenerbahçe and Saudi side Al-Ahli as potential loan destinations. Chelsea are open to another loan exit, with a new permanent head coach likely to determine whether Jackson has any future at all in west London.
