Aston Villa continue to demand more than €10m to let Martinez leave, a figure Juventus have so far been unwilling to meet despite the Argentine's own willingness to explore a new challenge, and with the new Serie A season approaching, the club are no longer prepared to wait indefinitely.
Parma's Zion Suzuki has consequently climbed to the top of the shortlist after an impressive campaign, with contacts between the two clubs ongoing and helped by good existing relations, though Parma value the Japan international at more than €30m and would prefer to sell him abroad given the level of foreign interest, with Paris Saint-Germain still keen and Aston Villa potentially returning for him should they eventually let Martinez go.
To bring down the cost, Juventus are considering including a makeweight in any deal, with midfielder Fabio Miretti among the names under consideration. Tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario also remains a live option, seen as a more affordable and reliable solution than Martinez, with Juventus favouring a loan with an obligation to buy and the goalkeeper himself understood to be open to a return to Serie A.
Away from the goalkeeper search, Dusan Vlahovic's future continues to generate interest following his departure from Juventus as a free agent, with Barcelona among the clubs monitoring his situation.
The Serbian striker has significantly lowered his financial demands, now seeking a net salary of around €6m a season, well below his original asking price, a concession that makes him considerably more attractive to clubs seeking a proven forward without having to pay a transfer fee.
Barcelona, however, do not currently view Vlahovic as a priority, with the Catalan club continuing to focus their efforts on Julian Alvarez as the ideal profile to lead their attack following Robert Lewandowski's departure.
Only if the Alvarez deal collapses, or if Barcelona sell Ferran Torres, would the club be likely to accelerate their interest in Vlahovic, who at 26 is seen as still having significant room to fulfil the potential that made him one of Europe's most sought-after young strikers, and for whom being available on a free transfer remains one of the most compelling aspects of any deal.
