João Pedro has rewarded a stunning debut season at Chelsea with a fresh eight-year commitment, extending his contract at Stamford Bridge through to 2034.
The Brazil international arrived from Brighton last summer and made an instant impact, finishing the campaign as Chelsea's Player of the Season after scoring 20 goals in all competitions, including strikes in both the semi-final and final as the Blues won the FIFA Club World Cup.
Chelsea confirmed the new deal on their official website, rewarding the 24-year-old with what is understood to be a significant improvement on his previous terms.
"I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea," João Pedro told the club's website. "I have always dreamed of playing for a big club, and it means a lot to me to give my long-term commitment to this club.
"Chelsea has a long tradition of winning and has big ambitions for the future."
The forward, who also found the net in wins over West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur last season, has been the subject of reported interest from Barcelona this summer as the Catalan club explored attacking reinforcements. That speculation appears to have done little to unsettle him in west London.
"I have a very good relationship with everyone here at the club and I have felt at home here in London from the moment that I joined," he said.
João Pedro is now set to begin the new season as Xabi Alonso's first-choice number nine, having taken on the shirt number vacated following Chelsea's summer business, and he has continued his form into pre-season with several goals in the warm-up fixtures. He said he is fully focused on delivering silverware under the Spaniard.
"Everyone is very excited for this season," he said. "We know we can achieve a lot of things, we have a great team, we have a coach who wants to win and has already won. I am fully committed, everyone is ready, and hopefully we can achieve our targets."
Chelsea's previous deal with the forward, signed upon his £60million move from Brighton, had been set to run to 2032 with the option of a further year.
The extension builds on that framework and comes as the club looks to lock down key pieces of Alonso's rebuilt attack heading into the new Premier League campaign, which begins against Fulham.
