Bournemouth have responded to Andoni Iraola’s exit announcement in the best possible way, turning uncertainty into momentum as the Cherries edge closer to the first European qualification in the club’s history.

Since confirming he will leave at the end of the season, Iraola’s side have looked anything but distracted.

A 1-0 win at Fulham kept Bournemouth sixth in the Premier League and strengthened their grip on a place in Europe with only a handful of matches remaining.

Rayan scored the only goal at Craven Cottage in a tense contest that saw both teams reduced to 10 men before half-time.

Rather than derail Bournemouth’s season, Iraola believes clarity over his future has brought the group closer together.

“It was not an easy decision, but once it is made you feel relief.”

“Everyone is clear. The relationship is so clean and honest.”

The Spaniard also confirmed he has not yet decided on his next move, despite growing interest from elsewhere, with Crystal Palace understood to view him as a leading managerial target.

“I’m in no rush.”

“I will not talk about my future.”

For now, Iraola’s focus remains fixed on Bournemouth and the chance to leave with something the club have never achieved before.

With supporters now singing his name at every away ground, the final weeks are beginning to feel like something far bigger than a farewell.
