The three players had important contributions to make at De Kuip, where Yann Bisseck opened the scoring before Esposito doubled Inter Milan’s advantage and Piotr Zielinski completed the victory in the second half.
Bisseck’s early goal came from a move involving Spence, who provided the assist, while Esposito continued his positive spell with another contribution in front of goal.
For Esposito, the performance was also a welcome return to his best level after a period when he had not felt entirely sharp.
“There was a week when I wasn't at my best, but now I feel good, I feel 100 per cent and I'm happy to have recovered,” he told Inter TV.
The striker also spoke positively about the competition and understanding within Inter’s attacking group, highlighting the different qualities of his team-mates.
“My team-mates in attack are all different. I play with very strong players and I get on well with them,” he said.
Inter Milan’s victory was particularly important after their derby defeat, and Esposito was pleased with the response before the international break.
“It was very important to finish well before the break. We did well to give a strong response after the derby and we have to keep going like this,” he added.
Spence, meanwhile, was delighted with both the result and his own performance after settling into life at Inter.
“I'm happy with the victory and with my performance. The three points were extremely important today and I'm pleased we got them,” he said.
The defender also addressed how quickly he has adapted to his new surroundings, crediting the support of the squad and coaching staff.
“Does it seem as though I've been here much longer? I'm adapting well. The team and the coach help me, we talk a lot, everything is going well and I'm happy to be able to help the team,” Spence explained.
There will be little time for Inter to enjoy their European success, with Como next on the schedule.
“There's no time to celebrate because we have another difficult game straight away. We won't have much time, but we have to recover and try to bring home the three points,” he said.
Bisseck also looked ahead to that fixture, while reflecting on his goal and Inter’s ability to maintain their concentration after establishing a two-goal lead.
“Everything I write on Instagram isn't serious, it should be left aside,” he said when asked about his previous comments concerning a missed chance against Young Boys and his dreams of playing as a striker.
“Today we got a good victory and I'm happy to have scored. We spoke a lot as a team about always having to stay concentrated, even at 2-0, which I think is the most dangerous scoreline in football.”
Bisseck believes Inter managed that challenge well in Rotterdam and wants to see the same attitude against Como.
“Today we did that and it was a deserved victory. Against Como we have to do what we did today: be concentrated, aggressive and believe in our qualities. We are facing a very strong team, but if we put everything we have into the game, we have a good chance of winning that one too.”
