Ausilio has hinted a formal approach may follow once discussions between Andoni Iraola and his squad are complete.
Ausilio spoke to Times journalist Paul Joyce, choosing not to disguise Inter Milan's position.
"Curtis Jones — we keep an eye on him. We haven't hidden it. We understand how the development will go."
Jones, 25, scored one goal and contributed two assists in 34 Premier League appearances this season, starting 18. He has spent his entire senior career at Liverpool, making 228 competitive appearances in total and scoring 22 goals.
His contract runs until the summer of 2027, giving Liverpool meaningful negotiating power — but also creating the possibility of losing him for a reduced fee rather than nothing at all in 12 months.
Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have all been linked with Jones during the season. Inter Milan's interest is the most concrete and consistently reported. The Italian champions won Serie A by 11 points from second-placed Napoli — a dominant campaign that gives the club the financial platform to pursue additions without urgency.
Whether Jones would be open to a move to Italy and whether Liverpool under Iraola regard him as part of their future will be the central questions of the coming weeks.
