Getafe were unable to hold onto a second-half lead at home to Deportivo, with Ramon Terrats' opener on 66 minutes cancelled out by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's header 12 minutes later, as the newly promoted visitors preserved their unbeaten start to the season.
Getafe boss Jose Bordalas admitted his side had lacked composure in the closing stages of the game, despite dominating large spells of the contest.
"It's a shame, because I think the team was superior to Deportivo in the first twenty minutes. We played in their half and went looking for the goal," Bordalas said. "We lacked calm in the final metres, in the last pass; we were maybe too hasty with the shot. But the team came out with a good attitude, the players made a great effort and gave everything.
"That doesn't console me, obviously, because we went ahead and they equalised again at the end. You're left with a point that doesn't taste of much, since we were trying to get the win."
Bordalas praised the quality of Deportivo's squad despite their newly promoted status, and reflected on his side's failure to close out a second successive home game after going ahead.
"It can't be that in two straight home games we go ahead and they manage to equalise," he said. "In the end, this is about winning; if you don't win, it doesn't matter that you played better."
The Getafe boss also pointed to a lack of squad depth as a recurring issue, with several key players unable to be substituted due to a lack of alternatives.
"We don't have a squad like most of the top-flight teams, who can change eleven players without the team suffering for it," Bordalas said. "The gap in the squad is very big from one player to another, in level, in experience. Unfortunately, we can't rotate like that."
Deportivo boss Antonio Hidalgo, whose side remain unbeaten after five rounds, said simply picking up a point away from home was valuable at this early stage of the campaign.
"We were able to push Getafe back into their own half towards the end of the first half, we were very focused, and this is about picking up points, we already have one more point," Hidalgo said.
The Deportivo coach also urged patience over forward Yeremay Hernandez's recovery from injury.
"Pubalgia is a very complicated injury and you have to be patient, we'll see the best version of Yeremay very soon."
