Barcelona have won all seven of their games this season, scoring 33 goals, and lead LaLiga on 18 points. The coach was speaking to the media on Friday ahead of the visit to Sevilla's Sánchez-Pizjuán.
Even so, he has not been carried away by the numbers.
"I already said at another press conference that it is very important to create a good environment for the players. Even so, right now I am not completely satisfied because we are at the start of the process and we still have room to improve. We always want more and there are aspects we must keep working on."
Flick shared the credit for the mood in the squad.
"I don't think it is only down to me, but to the whole coaching staff. We all work together and we always try to convey a positive energy. For me, that is fundamental. Our job is to help the team and make sure every player can reach his best level. We are demanding with them and we ask for performance constantly."
The main talking point is the goalkeeping position. Joan García misses out through injury, and Wojciech Szczęsny, known as Tek, made an error against Racing de Santander on Wednesday. Dominik Livaković joined from Fenerbahçe in August.
"We spoke to him and the medical team about the discomfort he had. It is nothing important, but he needs to rest," Flick said of García.
"It is very important to have quality in this position. With Dominik we have a goalkeeper of a very good level. As for Tek, if you look back, we won the league with him and he was responsible for it. For us he is a fabulous goalkeeper."
Flick spoke with Szczęsny after the mistake and is confident it will not happen again.
"He realised he had got himself into trouble, you can see it in the images. I think, right now, the situation with Tek is that he knows what our philosophy is. And Dominik has just played, he is adapting to our idea. And this is the point. He can play, he is ready to play and that is what we have to consider. But we always look for what is best for the team, not for one player."
With four international matches on the horizon, he had a message for the national team coaches, and for his own squad's workload.
"I believe in the national team coaches and I always try to be positive. We will have a few days for them to recover," he said. "Tomorrow we want to win and that is the job we have to do."
"We are managing the load very well. For me, this is the key. We have many games and we have to train always keeping recovery in mind."
Summer signing Karim Adeyemi has been one of the surprises of the start.
"He is a very fast player. The fastest? I don't know, Alphonso Davies is similar. He is a good lad, a great person and has a lot of respect in the dressing room. Everyone loves him a lot. The performances he is putting in make things easier. In Germany he wasn't in a good moment and the best thing was to change air, go to another country. I'm glad he decided on us. I will give him confidence and I am betting on him one hundred per cent."
Flick also singled out Raphinha, the captain.
"If you look at the last two seasons, our press almost always began with the striker. He has that hunger, that intensity and that predisposition to start the press as we want. He not only contributes hugely in attack, he also does great defensive work. He is the one who takes the first step in the press and, as captain, he sets the path for the rest of the team to follow him."
