Ferran Torres has said an emotional goodbye to Barcelona on social media after completing his reported €50 million move to Paris Saint-Germain this weekend.

The Spain international travelled to the French capital at the weekend, passed his medical and trained with his new teammates for the first time before publicly closing the book on four and a half years at Camp Nou.

Barcelona and PSG reached a final agreement worth around €50 million for the forward, according to Catalunya Press, following days of negotiation between the two clubs. Torres, 26, arrives in Paris to link up again with Luis Enrique, under whom he won LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup during his time in Catalonia, and moves to the Parc des Princes fresh off winning the 2026 World Cup with Spain.

In a message posted to his social media accounts, Torres thanked Barcelona's supporters for their backing throughout his spell at the club.

"Culers, first of all I want to thank you for everything. Defending these colours has been an honour. What I've experienced at Barça, in these four and a half years, has made me a better footballer and a better person," he wrote.

He went on to describe the club as a formative part of his career.

"In this time, Barcelona has been my home. I arrived promising to give everything, and that's what I've worked for.

"Always with the aim of helping the team, of taking Barça where it deserves to be, to the very top. At this club I leave friends inside and outside the dressing room, and a lot of people who have made all of us better. Together we've been champions, with Barça, and many of us with the national team too.

"Thank you, and Forza Barça."

Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in December 2021 and leaves as one of the club's most productive Spanish forwards of the modern era, having made his mark across four full seasons in Catalonia. His departure frees up wage room for Barcelona as the club continues to manage its squad within LaLiga's financial fair play limits before the transfer window closes.

At PSG, Torres joins an attacking group that already features Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola, giving Luis Enrique a wealth of attacking options to call upon as his side target another push for major honours this season.

Torres began his career at Valencia before a move to Manchester City in 2020, where he won the Premier League and League Cup under Pep Guardiola. His switch to Barcelona in 2021 turned into the most prolific spell of his career, and he leaves Camp Nou as a World Cup winner, LaLiga champion and Copa del Rey winner, closing out his Spanish chapter on a considerable high before starting afresh in France.
