Ansu Fati, 23, completed a permanent move from Barcelona to Monaco for โฌ11 million, ending his long association with the Camp Nou club.
Bori Fati told Erem News that Flick, the Barcelona coach, made no attempt to persuade his son to stay.
"No, he never spoke to him, and nothing happened that made him reconsider his decision to leave," said Fati Snr. The move was completed on Wednesday, though talks had dragged on for longer than expected.
Bori Fati explained the delay in quotes carried by Sport, revealing that the final sign-off was held up by Barcelona's sporting director being away on holiday.
"The deal was closed today after all details were agreed, and we were waiting for Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, to return from his holidays in Brazil," he said.
"There were some final details to agree with Monaco, so the process dragged on a little longer in recent days, but today everything is finalised."
Ansu Fati scored 11 goals in 25 appearances for Monaco last season, having spent the campaign on loan at the Ligue 1 club before Wednesday's permanent switch turned that stay into a lasting one.
Back in April, before the move was finalised, Bori Fati had already suggested the family wanted his son to build his future in Monaco.
"We still don't know what's going to happen with his future, because he has a contract until 2028, that's for sure. We don't know, but we want him to stay in Monaco because he's happy there," he said at the time.
Bori Fati has also been vocal about his son's omission from Spain's World Cup squad, a decision he continues to disagree with strongly.
"My son is at a level above any other Spanish forward, but the national team hasn't seen it that way," he told Erem News.
The comments from Bori Fati paint a picture of a player who left Barcelona with little direct contact from his coach in the final weeks of his spell there.
That version of events was echoed in the account he gave to Sport regarding the closing stages of the negotiation, where the club's focus appeared to be elsewhere until Deco's return.
