George, 20, joined Everton on loan from Chelsea in January and made a positive impression on Merseyside. Moyes has spoken warmly of the player, describing his attitude, work rate and overall conduct as excellent. The decision not to buy him outright is not a reflection of George's performances but of wider financial caution at Goodison Park.
Dibling, also 20, joined Everton from Southampton last summer in a deal worth £36m — a significant investment that has not paid off. He has started just four Premier League games and has yet to score in any competition for the club.
Moyes has been publicly critical of the winger on more than one occasion, and the scale of the outlay on a player who has underperformed makes the board reluctant to commit further funds to the same position.
Dibling's path to Chelsea was brief and unhappy. He left Southampton's academy in July 2022 to join the London club but returned to the south coast two months later due to homesickness.
Moyes, asked about the futures of both George and Jack Grealish — who joined on loan from Manchester City in the same window — gave a holding response, saying: "At the moment, they go back to their clubs and we'll take it from there. We like Tyrique, obviously we like Jack a lot — but we've not got an answer yet."
Whether Everton act or not, George is expected to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer, with the Blues willing to sell.
