Speaking after Barcelona's 2-1 win over Al Ahly at the Spotify Camp Nou, Deco addressed the club's most eye-catching addition of the window, midfielder Rodri, revealing the move only came together once an unexpected opportunity opened up.
"We're happy with all of them. Every signing makes sense. We discussed it a lot internally before making a decision," he said. "Rodri wasn't in our plans at the start because we thought he wouldn't be available, but when we saw the opportunity we went for him.
"There's always room to improve, and Rodri will improve the team."
Asked whether signing the Spain international carried extra significance given Real Madrid's own long-standing interest in the player, Deco dismissed the suggestion outright.
"We don't go in for signing players just to take them away from another club, even if there's rivalry involved," he said. "We didn't know it would be possible. We haven't entered into any fight with Madrid."
On the club's remaining priorities, Deco confirmed a forward remains the target after the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres left gaps to fill.
"We've brought in two players up front. Lewandowski's absence is hard to replace; Ferran's is covered by Gordon and Adeyemi. We have internal solutions, but I think we'll make another move. There's a lot of noise out there, but we keep working," he said.
Deco also played down any concern over squad registration issues that have complicated previous transfer windows for the club.
"We won't struggle to register players. One of the good things we've achieved is that every player has wanted to come here, because they've seen we have a winning project, and that excites footballers who want to be part of this club's history," he said.
