The Alicante-born coach, who has agreed a new deal running through to June 2028, was appointed to present both the extension and the start of pre-season training together on Friday.
"I'm at the club I identify with the most, I feel loved, the affection from everyone is a great source of excitement, I'm very satisfied," Bordalas said.
"I want to thank my president, the sporting management and, above all, the supporters. I've felt very loved, it was a simple decision. Very happy."
He was equally direct about the standard he expects to maintain.
"The goal is to train better tomorrow than today, and to do that for eleven months," he said. "We promise commitment, work, and seeing the players grow is the most exciting part."
Bordalas also addressed the departures of key players this summer, including Mauro Arambarri's move to River Plate and Luis Milla's exit.
"It's not easy for any coach to see good players leave, as has happened this season," he said. "We can only thank the players who were here for their commitment, their performances, they helped us all grow. Getafe has certain needs, and finds itself obliged to let important players go, with others arriving who have less experience, and we'll try to do it as well as possible."
On Arambarri specifically, he added: "Mauro was an extremely important player for many seasons, that's obvious. He deserves all the recognition. We wish him the best at River. It was more his own decision, he wanted to be close to home, he'd been away for more than a decade. We know it's a very significant loss."
Getafe's return to European football also featured heavily in Bordalas's remarks, with the club having qualified for the Conference League.
"Having qualified for the Conference is important for us, we know we have a significant qualifying tie in August," he said. "We know it's going to be difficult, but what Getafe has shown is that it's a very competitive team, with a very high level of commitment, and this year will be no exception. Our objective is to compete at the highest level, we don't set ourselves medium or long-term targets."
Asked about Spain's progress at the World Cup, Bordalas said he was confident of a run to the latter stages: "With enormous excitement, they're having a great tournament, we have a fantastic squad, a spectacular national team, we're convinced we'll reach the semi-final."
Bordalas becomes one of the longer-serving coaches in La Liga as a result of the new deal, having first joined Getafe in 2016 before spells at Valencia and Alaves, and a subsequent return to the Coliseum in 2023.
