A new deal for Harry Kane, still very much the club's No 1 choice up front, is expected to be finalised at some point this year, but Bayern have long held ambitions to eventually shift the 32-year-old into a deeper, more creative role as he moves through the later stages of his career, freeing up space for an out-and-out striker to play ahead of him.
That idea first took shape when Vincent Kompany arrived at the club in 2024, with Sesko identified as a target even then, only for Bayern to be priced out of a move at the time.
According to Christian Falk of CFBayern Insider, the plan has not gone away, even though Bayern's attacking business this summer has instead focused on Saibari, who can also operate as a central striker when required.
"The idea is still there to bring such a striker into the team," Falk said. "Now, Bayern have Ismael Saibari who can cover this role as well, so Bayern will perhaps see if they can make it work already this coming season.
"The plan for the future, nonetheless, is to sign another striker who can be a Harry Kane successor but also play in a two-striker system."
Falk added that Sesko remains firmly on Bayern's list for the future, particularly if his time in the Premier League proves difficult: "Perhaps, if he's struggling to make his mark in the Premier League, they could return to this idea."
Sesko joined Manchester United in a big-money move ahead of last season and scored 12 goals across all competitions, finishing the campaign strongly under Michael Carrick and establishing himself as a regular starter, which makes any approach for him unlikely in the short term.
Bayern also opted against signing Nicolas Jackson on a permanent deal following his loan from Chelsea last season, having judged that he failed to do enough to justify the move, leaving Saibari as their only major addition at the top end of the pitch this summer.
