The Bayern Munich goalkeeper addressed the rumours following his side’s emphatic 5-0 win over St. Pauli.
At 40, Neuer continues to perform at a high level, with recent displays reigniting discussion about a potential return to the national team setup.
Speaking after the match, the veteran was clear in his response to reports suggesting tension with the Germany head coach.
“We don’t have a bad relationship, we have a good relationship,” he said on Aktuelles Sportstudio.
“But what is said from the outside, I don’t think it interests him or me, and that’s why we’re relaxed about it.”
Neuer’s form has remained impressive, including standout performances in Europe such as Bayern’s recent Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
Those displays have inevitably led to renewed calls for his inclusion in Germany’s plans for the upcoming World Cup.
However, the experienced goalkeeper made it clear that chapter of his career is now closed.
“There will be a World Cup, but I’m not part of it and I’m not involved at all,” he said.
“I’m watching it calmly from the outside.”
Neuer has earned 124 caps for Germany, establishing himself as one of the most influential goalkeepers in international football history.
Despite continued high-level performances at club level, he appears content to step away from the international stage.
For Neuer, the focus remains firmly on Bayern Munich, while any outside speculation — whether about relationships or international returns — is something he is choosing to ignore.
