The Catalan club have no plans to bring the 21-year-old centre-back back to the Camp Nou, but they stand to gain financially regardless, having inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause when Dominguez left for Croatia last summer in a deal worth just €1.2 million.
According to Sport, Lazio have already had an opening offer of around €5m plus add-ons rejected by Dinamo Zagreb, who are said to be holding out for a figure closer to €10 million before agreeing to sell. Tottenham have since entered the picture too, making direct contact with the Croatian club as they look to strengthen a defence that struggled for consistency last season.
That competition between two suitors could yet push the fee higher still, which would only increase Barcelona's eventual windfall. Should Dominguez move for anywhere between nine and ten million euros, his former club would be in line for close to two million euros, a useful boost as Barcelona continue working to manage their wage bill within Financial Fair Play limits.
Dominguez has excelled since making the switch from La Masia, establishing himself as a regular starter in his first full season in Croatia, contributing two goals and playing more than 30 matches across league and European competition. Despite that progress, he has previously admitted his long-term ambition remains to return to Spain, having spoken openly in recent months about wanting to eventually play back in his homeland.
For Lazio, new head coach Gennaro Gattuso has identified central defence as a priority this summer, with Alessio Romagnoli expected to depart and Mario Gila also attracting interest elsewhere, leaving a gap the Italian club hope Dominguez can fill. Reports have also linked Lazio with Fiorentina's Pietro Comuzzo as an alternative, though a move for the Italian would likely only be feasible as a loan.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are looking to reinforce their defensive options after a difficult campaign, with the futures of both Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin unclear heading into the summer.
