Pedro Porro could emerge as a transfer target for Barcelona, with reports in Spain suggesting the Tottenham right-back is considering his long-term future in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old remains under contract in north London until 2031, having signed a new long-term deal in June. However, his future has attracted renewed attention amid Tottenham’s difficult period and claims that a return to Spanish football appeals to him.

Barcelona are said to be keeping track of the situation as they assess potential options at right-back. Porro’s attacking qualities, pace and international experience would make him an attractive candidate for a team seeking additional options in the position.

His possible arrival would depend on Barcelona’s own squad decisions. Sporting director Deco is reportedly reluctant to commit significant funds to the full-back positions without first making room in the squad or generating transfer income.

Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde are among the players whose futures could influence the club’s plans. A departure for Koundé would create a more direct need for a right-back, while any sale of Balde could provide funds but would also leave Barcelona needing to reorganise their defence.

Porro’s situation is complicated by Tottenham’s contractual position. The club moved to secure his future in June, extending his deal to 2031 with an option for another season. Spurs therefore have no immediate contractual pressure to sell one of their established players.

Any potential deal would likely require a substantial fee, and Barcelona would need to decide whether Porro represents a realistic priority or whether a more affordable alternative would better suit their financial circumstances.

The Spanish club are also reported to have considered Sporting’s Iván Fresneda as another option for their full-back positions.

For now, there is no indication of a formal offer from Barcelona. Porro’s future remains a developing transfer story, with any move dependent on the player’s wishes, Tottenham’s valuation and the decisions Barcelona make about their existing defenders.
