Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Andrea Cambiaso as Mikel Arteta considers potential additions to his squad, with the Juventus defender’s versatility making him an attractive option.

The 26-year-old Italy international is capable of operating on either side of the defence and can also play in a more advanced midfield role. That flexibility is understood to be a significant part of his appeal to Arsenal, who continue to assess options in the transfer market.

Cambiaso has established himself at Juventus through his ability to contribute in different positions. Primarily a full-back, he can provide width on the left or right, while his technical qualities allow him to move into midfield when the tactical situation demands it.

Such adaptability could suit Arteta’s approach, which often asks wide defenders to perform different functions depending on how Arsenal build their attacks and control possession.

However, interest has not yet developed into a formal approach, and there is no indication that negotiations between the clubs have begun.

Juventus remain in a strong position should Arsenal decide to pursue the defender. Cambiaso is under contract in Turin until 2029, giving the Italian club considerable control over his future and reducing any immediate pressure to sell.

Arsenal would therefore need to establish whether their interest is strong enough to progress beyond scouting before any potential transfer becomes a concrete possibility.

For now, the situation appears to be at an early stage, with Cambiaso one of the players being assessed rather than the subject of an active bid. Any further development will depend on Arsenal’s recruitment priorities and Juventus’ willingness to consider offers for a player tied to the club for several more seasons.
