Andy Diouf's impressive start to the season at Inter Milan has attracted interest from Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, with the French midfielder establishing himself in a new role on the right side of the team.

The 23-year-old arrived at Inter from Lens in August 2025, but struggled to secure a regular place during his first campaign. His situation has changed this season, with manager Cristian Chivu deploying him as a right-sided wing-back and giving him a consistent run in the starting line-up.

Diouf has responded with three assists in the opening weeks of the Serie A campaign, using his pace, physical strength and ability to carry the ball to influence matches from a wider position.

His performances have also brought international recognition. Zinedine Zidane included Diouf in his first France squad, and the midfielder has since made his senior international debut, adding another dimension to his growing profile.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are all monitoring his progress. The reports suggest the clubs are attracted by his versatility, although his best position remains an important consideration when assessing how he might fit into another team's system.

Diouf is naturally a midfielder and has spent much of his career operating centrally, including in a double pivot. His adaptation to the right flank at Inter has opened up a different route into the first team, but it does not necessarily mean he would be suited to every defensive role.

His preferred left foot and experience carrying the ball could make him useful in systems that deploy wing-backs, while his midfield background offers additional flexibility.

Inter have little immediate reason to consider a sale. Diouf is contracted until June 2030, having joined from Lens in a deal reported to be worth around โ‚ฌ20 million. The Italian club invested in a young player with room to develop, and his recent performances have strengthened rather than weakened his position.

A significant offer may be required to persuade Inter to negotiate, particularly given the player's improving status and the length of his contract. There is, however, no indication that any of the interested clubs have made a formal bid.

Barcelona's interest has been reported alongside the attention from Chelsea and PSG, but the situation remains one of monitoring rather than a confirmed transfer negotiation.

For Diouf, the immediate priority is to maintain his place in Chivu's side and build on his international breakthrough. If he continues to produce consistently in his new role, interest from Europe's leading clubs is likely to remain a feature of his season.
