Arsenal attacking midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has been added to England's pre-World Cup training camp in Florida, joining three other young players invited by head coach Thomas Tuchel to help prepare the senior squad for this summer's tournament.

England's official X account confirmed the news on Saturday: "Ethan Nwaneri will join our Three Lions preparation camp in Florida ahead of the FIFA World Cup."

Nwaneri, 19, joins Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, Fulham youngster Josh King and Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, who were confirmed as preparation camp additions when Tuchel named his 26-man squad on Friday. Tuchel had signalled at the announcement that a fourth player would follow, declining to name them at the time.

The four players will train with the senior group during the Florida camp but will not travel to the tournament itself. The exception is Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele, who was left out of the 26-man group but will remain with the squad throughout as a training goalkeeper.

Nwaneri made 12 senior appearances for Arsenal this season before joining Marseille on loan in January, where he made a further ten appearances. He has not yet received a senior England call-up, but has been a regular figure in the Under-21 setup that won the European Championship in 2025. He became the youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League when he made his Arsenal debut in September 2022 at 15 years and 181 days old.

England's senior squad is due to assemble in Palm Beach on 1 June, with Arsenal players Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze joining later due to their involvement in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on 30 May.

England face New Zealand in Tampa and Costa Rica in Orlando as warm-up fixtures before opening their World Cup campaign against Croatia on 17 June. Ghana and Panama complete their Group L schedule.
