Fulham are winless in the Premier League, but the newcomers have already given supporters their first moments of joy.
Gonzalo, signed from Real Madrid for €40 million, scored against Chelsea and again in the 3-0 League Cup win over Wimbledon. Arbeloa used an interview with DAZN to highlight both signings.
“It hasn’t been easy. They had many proposals from many very important teams in Europe, some were playing in European competitions.
"The fact that they wanted to come to Fulham to work with me makes me feel very fortunate. I am very proud to have them with me again.”
Arbeloa says he knows them well from their time together at Real Madrid.
“I know them well. They are two lads with immense talent, each with their own characteristics, but they have that personality, that ambition, that self-demand, that talent that I want in young players like them and I am sure they will give us a lot of joy this year and, above all, in the future.”
He knows what he is talking about. Palacios is the player who has played the most games (42) under him - the Fulham No. 8 has 15 goals and six assists with Arbeloa. Gonzalo is not far behind, with 35 appearances, 12 goals and three assists under the former Real Madrid coach.
