Fikayo Tomori and Youssouf Fofana were both left out of AC Milan's most recent friendly against Chelsea, a significant signal over their respective futures, while Kayky Athekame is set to join Lyon on a straight loan, Malick Odogu is expected to leave temporarily and Warren Bondo could also be sold.
The situations of Pervis Estupinan and Santiago Gimenez remain unresolved, as does that of Rafael Leao, with Galatasaray continuing to push for the Portuguese forward while AC Milan hold out for an offer closer to their €50m valuation - Fenerbahce, also linked earlier in the window, appear to have cooled their interest after turning their attention to Romelu Lukaku instead.
Leao has indicated he wants to stay, but the club would be willing to sell if the right offer arrives.
On the incoming side, Amorim is understood to want three further additions: a defender, a wide player and an attacking midfielder. Dario Osorio, the 22-year-old Midtjylland winger, is under consideration for the flank and valued in the region of €15m-€20m, while in defence Milan's preferred target is Sporting Lisbon's Goncalo Inacio, valued by the Portuguese club at around €40m.
Amorim knows Inacio well, having previously coached him in Portugal, and rates him as well suited to his system. AC Milan's business in Serie A has so far produced no departures at all this summer - an unprecedented situation for the club heading into the closing weeks of the window - which only sharpens the urgency to generate funds through sales.
Milan's business on outgoings is expected to accelerate first in order to create room, both financially and within the squad, for the new arrivals Amorim is requesting before the transfer window closes.
