Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade has also shed light on how the deal came together, revealing that agent Paulo Pitombeira acted as an intermediary between the two clubs, drawing on his strong relationships at both Manchester City and Palmeiras to help broker terms.
City will pay €37.5m guaranteed for Allan, with Palmeiras owning 90% of his economic rights, plus a further €2.5m through easily achievable objectives tied to appearances, taking the guaranteed total to around €40m. Further bonuses tied to tougher targets could add another €5m-7m according to Andrade's own estimate, though he considers it unlikely the package will reach €50m in total.
Allan will sign a five-year contract with City through to June 2031, with the club holding an option for a further season that could extend the deal to 2032. He arrives as a direct replacement for Savinho, who is closing in on a move to Tottenham for a fee in the region of £85m, giving City fresh funds to work with even as they also push to complete a deal for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi this week.
He leaves Palmeiras after 96 first-team appearances, scoring nine goals and adding 12 assists, closing out his homegrown career with one more evening in front of the Nubank Parque crowd before departing for Manchester on Thursday.
