Pavey, 17, has established himself as a first-team regular for AIK in Allsvenskan this season after making no league appearances in 2024.
The teenager had been frozen out before head coach José Riveiro replaced Mikkjal Thomassen and overhauled the club's approach to youth development.
The Solna-born defender has since started five league matches, earning widespread praise for his performances. He also featured extensively during pre-season and in the Swedish Cup before breaking into the starting lineup.
Sportbladet reports that the FA has approached Pavey's family and representatives with the aim of convincing him to switch his international allegiance to England.
Pavey holds dual nationality through his father Kenny Pavey, a former professional who is English. The teenager has to date represented Sweden at youth level, accumulating 21 caps for the under-17s and ten for the under-19s.
He signed his first senior contract with AIK in January 2025, committing until the end of 2027. It was reported at the time that he had rejected approaches from several overseas clubs, including PSV Eindhoven, in favour of remaining in Stockholm.
Whether the same loyalty extends to his international future is now an open question — and one that Swedish football officials will be hoping he answers in their favour.
