Werder loanee Arthur admits Bayer Leverkusen dream is on hold

Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen loanee Arthur has admitted that his dream of becoming a Bayer Leverkusen legend is on hold, and that he expects to return there in ten months.

The 23-year-old right-back, speaking to Bild, said he has a long contract at Leverkusen and is still young, which apparently rules out a permanent signing by Werder.

Asked whether he still dreams of becoming a legend at Bayer Leverkusen, he did not hesitate.

“Yes, absolutely! This dream is now taking a small break, but if I present myself well here, then that will also help me in Leverkusen.

"I have a long contract there and I’m still young.”

Arthur joined the Bremen club on loan on deadline day and went straight into Daniel Thioune’s starting line-up. Although it was hard for him to leave Bayer Leverkusen, he says he is looking at his time on the Weser with plenty of energy.

“There are ups and downs. I respect the decision. I will now step on the gas and do everything so that Werder are successful.

"Werder is also a big club, the team-mates are great. But in ten months it’s back to Leverkusen.”
