The result extended Leeds United's unbeaten start to the new season and continued a difficult recent record at the venue for Daniel Farke's side, who had gone years without taking anything from a trip to the south coast. Brighton dominated large spells of the game throughout but were unable to find a second goal to move back ahead.
"Everything. We got more intensity, more energy. We won more first balls. We were sharp on the second balls," Fabian Hurzeler said of his side's second-half improvement.
"We understood that, first of all, it's about doing the basics right, being physical and trying to outwork and outrun the opponent. That's always the foundation of the game."
The Brighton head coach was full of praise for Vuskovic's impact after his equaliser, scored in only the defender's third Premier League appearance.
"I think what he has is the physicality to adapt quickly to the Premier League. We shouldn't underestimate that he's a really young boy," Hurzeler said. "For his age, he plays very maturely, and he has definitely adapted quickly."
Hurzeler also praised another of his summer signings, Malick Yalcouyé.
"I was very impressed because it was another really good individual performance from him. He always shows a lot of energy and effort. He's good in possession and out of possession," he said.
Farke, meanwhile, was genuinely satisfied with a point given his side's recent struggles at Falmer stadium.
"That is a really good point for us, given our recent record here," the Leeds boss said. "It is ages ago since we took something last time here from a long travel to Brighton and even longer ago when we scored the last time a goal here.
"So, for that, a point is definitely a good result but more was even possible, I would say. At half time, we should have been out of sight normally and the second half was a similar topic."
Farke praised his players' resilience in seeing out the point after a one-sided second period.
"I love that my players dug in. We had even a chance to win it but overall it doesn't take anything away that it is a good point away at Brighton," he said.
Vuskovic arrived at Brighton in a club-record £50m deal from Tottenham over the summer, having spent last season on loan at Hamburg, where he was voted the Bundesliga's Rookie of the Season.
The 19-year-old Croatia international had not featured competitively for Spurs before his move, making his rapid adaptation to Premier League life all the more striking so early in his Brighton career.
