Jamie Vardy scored the only goal as Cremonese beat Udinese 1-0 away from home on Sunday to keep their Serie A survival hopes alive heading into the final day of the season.

The 39-year-old English striker, who joined Cremonese last summer following his departure from Leicester City, has been the club's most consistent attacking threat across what has been a difficult debut season back in the top flight for the Lombard club. Sunday's goal was his ninth of the campaign in all competitions.

Vardy spoke to DAZN after the final whistle, keeping his message focused and direct.

"We have to keep believing. Now we need to concentrate on Como to win and stay in Serie A."

He remained characteristically uncomplicated when asked about continuing to deliver at this level of pressure.

"We have to try to get the maximum out of ourselves. It is not easy, but another goal will be needed and as long as we can, we will believe."

Cremonese face Como on the final day in a match that will determine their top-flight future. A win would keep their survival hopes alive depending on other results.

Vardy's goal on Sunday at least ensures the outcome remains in their own hands for one more week.
